Hey everyone, it’s Drew, welcome to our recipe page. Today, we’re going to make a special dish, chicken gyros. It is one of my favorites food recipes. For mine, I will make it a little bit tasty. This will be really delicious.

Chicken Gyros is one of the most favored of recent trending meals on earth. It’s simple, it is fast, it tastes delicious. It is appreciated by millions every day. They’re nice and they look wonderful. Chicken Gyros is something that I’ve loved my whole life.

To get started with this recipe, we have to prepare a few components. You can have chicken gyros using 12 ingredients and 7 steps. Here is how you can achieve that.

The ingredients needed to make Chicken Gyros:
  1. Make ready 500 g chicken thigh fillets (deboned)
  2. Get 1 cup (250 ml) Greek or natural yoghurt
  3. Take 25 ml lemon juice
  4. Make ready 50 ml olive oil
  5. Take 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper(less if you don’t want it too spicy)
  6. Get 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  7. Prepare 1 teaspoon ground coriander
  8. Make ready 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  9. Prepare 2-3 cloves crushed garlic
  10. Prepare Salt and pepper to taste
  11. Take 1 teaspoon paprika
  12. Take Oven tray with 1/2 large onion and wooden skewer- this is the frame that supports the chicken thighs during cooking
Instructions to make Chicken Gyros:
  1. Make the marinade by combining all ingredients except chicken, onion/skewer.
  2. Add flattened chicken thighs - I used the palm of my hand to gently flatten so that all the pieces were about the same thickness
  3. Marinade for a minimum of 2 -4 hours
  4. Assemble marinated chicken thighs on the skewer - add at right angles to each other to even out the gyros stack.
  5. Bake in oven at 200 degrees centigrade for 1 hour 20 minutes or until cooked through. The outside will get a little burnt but don’t worry - important to check the inside is cooked.
  6. Remove from oven, cool slightly and then slice. Serve with salad and pita bread. A nice side dish is some yoghurt with mint (in winter I substitute a teaspoon of mint sauce from fresh mint).
  7. Enjoy!
