Take 2 bay leaf
Take 1 1/2 tsp crushed red chili
Get 1 cup yoghurt
Get 1 tsp ground dania
Prepare 5 cups water
Prepare 1 tsp ground white zeera
Prepare 1/2 tsp zarda color
Steps to make Quick Palou Biryani:
Soak the rice for 2 hours beforehand if they are new. Old rice should be soaked for half an hour.
In a pan, add 1/2 cup oil and add chopped onion. Fry onion till light brown color
Add sabut Garam Masala (2 kali alichi (cardamom), 3 green alichi, 1-inch cinnamon stick, 6 long, 10 kali mirch, 2 badian ka phool). Add bay leaves.
Fry eveything for about 2 minutes.
Add chicken, then 1 1/2 tsp salt. Fry the chicken till color changes to light brown.
Meanwhile, blend the tomatoes, green chili, ginger and garlic into a smooth tomato paste.
When the chicken's color changes, add the tomato paste to it.
Add in hadi pwder, garam masala powder, ground dania and zeera Fry the chicken in these masalas for 10 minutes. (salan ko bunna hai).
Add 1 cup yoghurt to the salan and mix.
When the salan dries, add 4 1/2 cups water.
Keep mixing the salan occasionally in-between while it dries.
Cover and boil the salan for 15 minutes. Then, add the rice. Cook the rice in the salan till the water evaporates.
When almost all the water has been evaporated, add zarda color and garnish with some dania and pudina and chawal ko dum dain. Place tawa underneath the pot and wrap the lid with a clean kitchen cloth. Cover the pot and give dum for 10 minutes.
When the pulou biryani is done, fluff the rice.
Serve and enjoy.
